In 1947, Lisbon City Council carried out the magnificent Celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Capture of Lisbon from the Muslims. Following up the principles and practice of its Cultural Services, several works on Lisbon History were published in this occasion. One of them, Lisboa, Oito Séculos de História (Lisbon, Eight Centuries of History) was the first colective olisipography (Lisbon studies) work. On the 75th anniversary of these Celebrations, the present article aims to outline the process of its production and its specificities.
